‘Fallon’ Wraps Pearl Jam Week With ‘Lightning Bolt’
Eddie Vedder reminisces about ‘Balls In Your Mouth,’ chats with Javier Bardem
Late Night With Jimmy Fallon wrapped up its weeklong Pearl Jam celebration last night with a second and final visit from the band. After performing their new single “Sirens” the night before, Pearl Jam launched into “Lightning Bolt,” the title track off their new album.
Eddie Vedder sat down with Jimmy Fallon and fondly reminisced about the pair’s 2011 duet, “Balls In Your Mouth.” “It’s really an environmental anthem,” Vedder mused. He also chatted with fellow-guest and Pearl Jam fan Javier Bardem, telling a story about Bardem introducing the band at a concert in Spain that left the audience in tears. “I was drunk,” Bardem explained. “I didn’t know what I said, but apparently people didn’t like it. They were crying for the wrong reasons.”
